Dr. Khalfan-Washington

Greetings. Karibu. Salaam Alaykum. My name is Dr. Khalfan-Washington, your instructor for English 11 and Advanced Placement Literature/Composition. Like many Americans, I have a rich ancestry. My family is originally from Jordan; they migrated to Africa in the early 1900s and lived there for over five generations before moving to the United States. As a result, I speak several languages, including English, Swahili, Gujarati, Urdu, and Hindi; additionally, I can read and write in Arabic. I have a B.S. in English Literature and an M.S. degree in Adolescent Education with a minor in English Literature, and a Doctorate in Education Leadership. I am New York State dually certified in English Language Arts and Student with Disabilities grades 7-12. My raison d'etre is to share my passion for learning, writing, and language skills as a 21st-century teacher.

I look forward to another exciting school year with the Dr. Izquierdo Health and Science family!
